Leaving a legacy gift is a powerful way to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families. After taking care of your loved ones, including a gift in your Will allows you to continue supporting mental health services for young people in your community.
It’s a meaningful opportunity to create a brighter future for children who need it most. Legacy gifts can also provide financial benefits for your estate, reducing taxes while leaving a lasting impact.
Your kindness can ensure children and families have access to vital mental health support for years to come. A gift in your Will is more than a donation — it’s a promise of hope and healing.
STEPS TO CREATING YOUR BEQUEST
Step 1
Decide on the following details:
- the amount you would like to gift in your Will
- if you’d like your gift to be in the form of a specific bequest, residual bequest or contingent bequest
- if you would like the funds to be used for a specific program or where needed most
- if you would like to dedicate this gift in honour or in memory of someone.
Step 2
Meet with your lawyer to create your Will or a codicil that will grant a gift to Algoma Family Services Foundation, and provide your lawyer with our Foundation details found below.
Step 3
You have the option to let us know about your generous gift. If you’re comfortable, we’d love to hear from you once you’ve included a gift to support children’s mental health in your Will. Knowing about your decision allows us to thank you personally and recognize your meaningful commitment.
